ReSound
“ReSound” was a project designed to fill a gap in musicology publications. There are very few journals, in digital or print formats, that tell the social history of musical movements. The idea of this publication was that each issue would focus on one style or genera of music and tell its story, from inception to evolution. This inaugural issue focused on the formation of the house music sound and its heritage in the black gay club scene in Chicago. This issue tells the story of the people, the places, and the moments that turned simple edits of disco singles into the first original electronic dance productions that would reintroduce dance music to the masses.
