Auteur is French for a filmmaker whose personal influence and artistic control over a movie are so great that the filmmaker is regarded as the author of the movie. This publication features one director per issue—diving deeper into the mind of the visionary and revealing a new perspective on their films. The inaugural issue of Auteur features director Baz Luhrmann and walks the reader through his colorful five movies.
